The Amazing Race
Teams of 3 (including a driver) will be challenged to move through the city of Albert Lea by foot, bike, kayak, or vehicle by solving clues, competing in challenges and overcoming obstacles that will help bring awareness to Mental Illness and promote Mental Health. Similar to a scavenger hunt!
Be the first team to complete the race and win the grand prize! Additional prizes will be awarded along the route!
We do have a team limit so if you’re interested hurry up and register now! On-line registration will close once our team limit is reached!
Additional Information/Rules & Regulations:
- The race is open to everyone - walkers, joggers and runners
- A team consist of 3 people - Teams must include at least one participant that is age of 18 or older
- Name the first registrant "Team Captain". Team captain register all three team members.
- Participants must be able to walk/run, bicycle or kayak at least 1 mile
- All team members must CHECK IN at the REGISTRATION TABLE prior to race start time
- You may only travel by designated driver or on your own using equipment provided
- Designated driver must show valid Driver’s License and proof of Insurance at CHECK IN
- The Driver for this event must be at least age 18
- Teams must use reliable vehicle during event
- Drivers must follow traffic laws at all times or teams will be disqualified if found in violation
- All three team members can work together to solve the clue but driver will need to remain in vehicle and on route
- This is a timed event- prizes will be awarded to winners based on least amount of time total and completion of challenges
- There will be additional prizes awarded throughout the event
- Contact information from Event Management staff will be provided at the start of the race and is the only contact information allowed to be used during event
- NO GPS devices, cell phones or other electronics will be allowed during the event. Immediate disqualification will occur if found to be in use during the route other than to contact the Event Management staff
- Plan on 120-180 minutes minimum to complete course
- The course will be throughout the community of Albert Lea, be prepared to spend some time in the car up to 50 miles (this is an estimate, it may be more or less than this depending on how well you know Albert Lea and can figure out the clues!)
- Spectators are welcome to tag along & cheer on the contestants ... for FREE!
- The race will be held rain or shine. For the safety of the participants - if there is lightning in the area, the race will either have a delayed start or, depending on the intensity of the weather, be cancelled. The determination will be made by the Event Management staff.
Participation Waiver
AGREEMENT, WAIVER, RELEASE AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I, the undersigned, acknowledge that it is my responsibility to understand the risks and determine whether I am fit to safely participate in this event and the precautions I should take. I hereby assume full responsibility for my safety and health during this event. I hereby, for myself, my heirs, guardians and personal representatives, forever release, hold harmless, and discharge the Amazing Race, its sponsors, directors, volunteers, and all other persons and entities associated with the event, (collectively, the “Organizers”), from and against any and all rights and claims for injuries or damages I may sustain or receive arising in any manner from my participation in the event, regardless of whether such injuries or damages result from the negligence of the Organizers. I recognize that the event takes place on open roads and bike trails with many traffic crossings, and regardless of the Organizers’ efforts to control traffic, I am responsible for my own safety when participating in this event., including when crossing intersections and interacting with moving vehicles. I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable. If the event is delayed or prevented by any cause outside of the control of the Organizers there shall be no refund of the entry fee or any other costs incurred by me.
By registering for this event online, I am “signing” this agreement, waiver, release, and acknowledgement. I am either over 18 years old or being registered by a parent/guardian that is completing this registration.”

Event will be held rain or shine. Sorry, no refunds.
The deadline to register is 5/5/17 after that date the registration is closed.
After April 28, t-shirts for participants will not be guaranteed.
You can still register the same day as the event.
