Hayward

Hayward was named after early settler David Hayward. It was settled in 1857 and platted in 1877.

Hayward is noted for its unique businesses, including Nick’s Meats, famous for their award-winning meat products.

Hayward has two restaurants, the Korner Kafe, located in Hayward and the Roadside Diner located at Hutch’s corner.

Our Hayward Coop has been in business for 95 years and Hayward Lutheran Church is celebrating 130 years this month.

Nancy’s Hair Salon is on Main Street and we have a very busy Calico Hutch Quilt Shop as you enter Hayward.

We have antiques available by appointment. Hayward is a busy, welcoming community.
