The Albert Lea–Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce brings businesses, organizations, and community leaders together to build a stronger future for Albert Lea and Freeborn County.

We believe businesses thrive when they have strong relationships, access to trusted resources, opportunities to grow, and a voice in the decisions that affect them. That is why the Chamber works every day to connect people, champion local businesses, encourage collaboration, and create opportunities that no single organization could accomplish alone.

From a new entrepreneur opening their first business to one of our region’s largest employers, our members represent the industries, ideas, and people that keep Freeborn County moving forward.

The Chamber is more than an organization you join. It is a network where businesses belong, relationships grow, and members work together to strengthen the entire community.

Our Mission

We champion the success of local businesses by building strong connections, igniting collaboration, and delivering innovative support—propelling Albert Lea and Freeborn County toward a vibrant, thriving future.

Our mission guides how we serve our members, build partnerships, and respond to the changing needs of our business community.

Our Vision

A thriving Albert Lea–Freeborn County where local businesses flourish together as collaborative, influential partners in a strong and vibrant community.

We envision a community where businesses of every size and industry can find the relationships, support, and opportunities they need to succeed—and where business leaders are actively involved in shaping the region’s future.

What We Do

Our programs and initiatives are designed to help businesses connect, grow, lead, and make an impact.

Build Business Connections

Business happens through relationships. The Chamber creates opportunities for members to meet one another, exchange ideas, develop partnerships, and become more connected to the community.

These opportunities include networking events, Business After Hours, member introductions, committee involvement, community celebrations, and signature Chamber events.

Develop Leaders

The Leadership Albert Lea–Freeborn County program gives participants an in-depth look at the businesses, institutions, industries, and issues that shape our region.

Participants build relationships, expand their understanding of the community, and prepare to take on meaningful leadership roles in their workplaces and throughout Freeborn County.

Provide Education and Resources

Businesses are continually adapting to new technologies, workforce challenges, regulations, and customer expectations.

The Chamber offers workshops, webinars, seminars, and professional-development opportunities that help members stay informed, build practical skills, and prepare for what comes next.

We also connect businesses with regional and statewide partners that can provide specialized assistance, coaching, funding resources, and technical expertise.

Increase Member Visibility

Our members are doing work worth celebrating.

The Chamber helps share their stories, promote important announcements, highlight employment opportunities, and recognize business milestones. Ribbon cuttings, groundbreaking ceremonies, anniversary visits, Chamber communications, social media, and other promotional opportunities help members reach a broader audience.

Advocate for a Strong Business Environment

The Chamber serves as a voice for the local business community.

We help members understand public-policy issues, connect with elected officials and decision-makers, and participate in conversations that affect employers, employees, and economic growth.

Our advocacy is focused on creating a healthy business climate and ensuring that the experiences and concerns of Freeborn County businesses are represented at the local, state, and federal levels.

Strengthen Our Community

Strong businesses and strong communities depend on one another.

The Chamber brings businesses, schools, public institutions, nonprofits, economic-development organizations, and community leaders together around shared opportunities and challenges. Through collaboration, we help support workforce development, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, community leadership, and thoughtful economic growth.

The Chamber Foundation

The Albert Lea–Freeborn County Chamber Foundation expands our ability to invest in programs that strengthen the broader community.

As a separate 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with the Chamber, the Foundation supports educational, leadership, workforce-development, and community-improvement initiatives that serve Albert Lea and Freeborn County.

Through grants, charitable contributions, and community partnerships, the Foundation helps turn promising ideas into programs that create lasting local impact. Its work complements the Chamber’s business-focused mission while ensuring that Foundation resources are used for charitable and public-benefit purposes.

Meet the Chamber Ambassadors

You may recognize them by their signature green coats, but Chamber Ambassadors do much more than attend events.

The Ambassadors are the Chamber’s public-relations and member-engagement team. They serve as a welcoming connection between the Chamber, its members, and the broader community.

Ambassadors help welcome new businesses, celebrate expansions and anniversaries, conduct ribbon cuttings and member visits, host Business After Hours, support the annual Chamber golf outing and membership celebration, and volunteer throughout the year.

Most importantly, they create an atmosphere of goodwill. They make sure members feel welcomed, recognized, and connected to the Chamber community.
